Mission Statement
Junipero Serra School is a Catholic community that establishes its Christian
environment on the message of the Gospel and the teachings of the Catholic
Church. We are committed to educating the whole child and developing the
unique potential of each in the Spirit of Jesus, which is one of love, joy,
and service.
School Profile
Junipero Serra School offers classes in
preschool through grade
eight. Extended Care is available. Fully credentialed teachers staff the
school. We at Junipero Serra School are committed to providing a
comprehensive education in the Catholic tradition. We seek to create a
Christian environment in which we respond to the needs of the whole child. We
foster self-esteem, self-discipline, and a spirit of cooperation. We nurture
an understanding and sensitivity to all people by encouraging reverence and
respect for each person. We affirm the worth and dignity of each individual.
As teachers we share this vision of education with the school community. We
recognize our responsibility to support parents in their role as the primary
educators of their children.

our value-oriented curriculum we provide the opportunity for each student's
spiritual, intellectual, psychological, social, physical, and aesthetic growth.
We guide students toward responsible, moral decision-making in a world of
challenged Christian values. The following basic subjects are taught at
Junipero
Serra

mathematics (concepts, computation, application, drill), language arts
(reading/literature, spelling, writing, grammar/composition), science, science

curriculum is enriched by classes in advanced math, Spanish, computer skills,
library, music, performing arts, art, and the D.A.R.E. program. There is a rich
variety of programs designed to complement our academic structure: student
council, after school athletic program, student-prepared liturgies, sacramental
programs, May Crowning, altar servers, scouts, community service projects,
talent show, yearbook, school newspaper, junior high dances, Mini-Olympics,
science fair, spelling bee, seventh and eighth grade retreats, multicultural
