Mission Statement

Mission College Preparatory is dedicated to making a difference by providing students with a Christ-centered, high quality, well-rounded, Catholic education in a nurturing environment while continuing to engage parents as primary educators.

School Profile

Mission College Preparatory is a Diocesan Catholic High School striving to be an extension of family and church by providing a Catholic environment that develops the whole person. Faculty and staff are committed to celebrating the unique God-given gifts of each student and helping them develop spiritually, intellectually, emotionally, socially and physically to their potential.
Our school endeavors to empower parents in the formation of young Christian adults in all aspects of academic, spiritual and social life; and seeks to provide each student with an experience of Christian community that prepares them to serve God and all persons.

Expected School-Wide Learning Results

An MCP Student is a unique individual who is:

A FAITH-FILLED PERSON

      -     Coming to recognize and accept himself/herself as loved by God and others,

      -     Developing an awareness of church as a community, through personal, communal and liturgical prayer

-     Continuing to develop a Catholic conscience and take responsibility for his/her actions

.AN ACTIVE LEARNER

      -     Developing ability to evaluate information and draw independent conclusions through the skills of logical and critical thought

-     Developing the ability to apply knowledge and skills to new situations under a variety of learning formats.

-     Developing a precise and personal style in both written and oral expression

-     Developing the foundations of language, mathematics, science, reading, physical fitness, and fine arts to the full extent of his/her ability,

-     Completing those academic subjects required for entrance into college,

 AN INVOLVED COMMUNITY MEMBER

      -     Serving others compassionately and respectfully, sharing his/her own gifts and talents,

-     Communicating through verbal and non-verbal language his/her beliefs and needs effectively.

-     Committing to specific actions that promote justice.

Accreditation

Mission College Preparatory Catholic High School is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and the Western Catholic Educational Association (WCEA).  The college prep courses are approved to meet the University of California "a-g" subject requirements. Eleven courses are approved as certified honors courses by the University of California.
