Mission StatementAs a loving and
dedicated Catholic community, Sacred Heart Parish School focuses on the
students’ spiritual, personal and intellectual development, nurturing a
foundation of Catholic Christian values and life skills which will empower them
to become responsible and informed citizens, both locally and globally.
School Profile
Sacred Heart Parish School, located in the rural community of San Benito
County, opened under the direction of four Sisters of Charity on August 8,
1891, as a boarding and day school. The tradition of the Sisters serving the
needs of the rural community was carried on until 1930 when the Sisters of
Saint Mary of Namur took over management. The last religious community to
direct the school was the Adrian Dominican Sisters. The school has been
administered by lay leadership since 1992. The faces, enrollment and
building structure have changed in the last 100 years, but not the commitment
of the school to our children’s well-being, the highest possible
training in our Catholic tradition and our future.
Curriculum
Sacred Heart Parish School has a comprehensive curriculum which focuses on each
student's spiritual, personal and intellectual development; instilling a
foundation of Christian values and life skills to successfully grow into
contributing members of society. The curriculum of the school is comprised
of Religion, Mathematics, Language Arts (Reading/Literature, Composition,
English, Spelling, Penmanship, Oral Expression, Creative Expression), Social
Studies, Science, Computer Technology, Music and Physical Education. In
addition to a full academic regimen, students are offered the following:
choir, sports (volleyball, basketball, football), Student Government, Science
Camp, fine arts and liturgical participation. For students who need
quality supervision after school, the Sacred Heart Parish School Extension
Program provides care until 6:00 p.m.
Accreditation
Sacred Heart Parish School is fully accredited by the Western Association of
Schools and Colleges (WASC) and the Western Catholic Educational Association
