Mission Statement
Saint Angela's Children's Center is dedicated to the care of children regardless
of race, color, or creed. A CATHOLIC CHRISTIAN environment is fostered at
the Center that respects the individuality of the child. We strive to
provide a high quality child development program to meet the individual needs of
the children and families we serve. We provide a loving and nurturing
environment where children are cared for in a special manner. The program
provides for the emotional, spiritual, social, physical, cognitive, and creative
growth of the child. A sense of responsibility and respect for themselves,
others and their environment is fostered.
School Profile
Saint Angela's Children's Center offers daily planned curriculum that encourages
creativity in all developmental areas. Programs are available for children, ages 3 to
5 years. All children must be potty trained for admission. Observation with
parent and child is necessary at application time. We are licensed by the State
of California. Staff members meet all ECE requirements. Since we believe children
learn by doing, teachers prepare and plan a classroom environment that allows
children to explore using their five senses. Redirection and positive
reinforcement is a part of our daily routine.
Description of Program
St. Angela's Children's Center
is a school solely dedicated to the Early Childhood Development and Education
of children ages 3 to 6 years old.
Our established Catholic preschool program (since 1985) is staffed by
loving, caring, and experienced teachers who work together in teams to create
lessons, activities & events that promote the development of the "whole" child.
A typical school day allows the students many opportunities to
experience God's love and gifts. All aspects of the curriculum build strong
Pre-Kindergarten readiness skills to build a strong foundation for success in
Kindergarten and beyond. The classrooms are outfitted with age-appropriate
materials to allow for self-directed and teacher-initiated activities. Our
school site has two playgrounds that are designed with play structures,
equipment and activities specifically for ages 3 to 6 years old.

Curriculum
Motor skills: Fine and large muscles are developed with the use of
activity table using real-life
situations and a daily creative movement program featuring song, finger play and
dance.
Language skills: The ability to use words to express emotions and convey thoughts is
developed through reading readiness activities which encourage
conversation.
Social skills: Ample interaction among peers and with staff fosters social
skills. Self-discipline is the key goal achieved by setting clear limits
with the children.
Emotional skills: Children experience a mix of quiet and social activities
in the care of a nurturing and loving staff. A healthy respect for one's self,
peers and staff is encouraged.
Spiritual: Children learn of all God's creations and endless love through
a developmentally appropriate curriculum. An "I am Special" prayer begins
each day reflecting on all of God's gifts.
